ITIL Qualifications Brief
It is expected that v2 qualifications and publications will continue to be available during a transitional period. EIs and ATOs will have access to V3 information in a timely manner and the marketplace will be given ample advance notification of changes to be implemented.
In the event that a student wishes to attend a course with entrance requirements, he must satisfy the ATO that he has met those requirements.
It will not be APMGs responsibility to set prices for examinations from other EIs or for courses. Exams will be translated to meet market demand.
Ongoing Role of itSMFI and Existing EIs
itSMFI is considering a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) offered by APMG which details the role that they will play in the qualification scheme in future. itSMFIs former MoU with OGC has expired.
EXIN and ISEB have existing licences from OGC that expire in mid 2007, and are able to offer official ITIL exams until then. They may offer official ITIL v2 and v3 exams after that time only if they are licensed by APMG. They have been offered licences by APMG and are currently considering their positions.
Other EIs have expressed interest in being accredited to offer official ITIL examinations.
A formal announcement on the way forward for qualifications will be made in due course.
