Opening the Book on ITIL

70% Australian Government departments have committed to using ITIL.

This industry is renowned for rapid change. However, new principles of managing information technology are distilled at a much slower pace.

The British Government recognised as much about 20 years ago when it created the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), a set of seven best-practice IT management books which can be combined with a three-tiered examination system. It has been big in England and the Netherlands for the past 10 years, and is spreading in America and, it seems, Australia. Last week, 25 IT management jobs listed at seek.com.au asked for ITIL skills.
