Nationwide Won The Achieve IT Process Excellence Category

By applying the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) concept to its IT processes, the company estimates an $8.5 million total cost of ownership and a $4.3 million return on investment over the next three years. Nationwide reduced its systems outage minutes by 40 percent.

Nearly 300 entries were submitted for this year's Business Technology Optimization Excellence Awards. The four grand prize winners, distinguished for uniting IT with the business goals of their organization, are MetLife, a leading provider of insurance and financial services to individual and institutional customers; Nike, the world's leading designer, marketer and distributor of authentic athletic footwear; Sprint North Supply, a wholesale distributor serving the telecom equipment market; and Nationwide, a major insurance and financial services provider.
