ITIL is a hot topic for a few reasons: the ITIL best-practices framework has provided a framework for communication and provides a good way to network with other companies. ITIL certification is also expanding, providing new career options for IT leaders.

A continuing education program for IT managers who have achieved the highest level of certification is coming, and the first companies are working their way through the process for achieving a corporate certification for their IT efforts based on a British standard, the BS15000 service management standard.
