Call for Papers - itSMF USA Road show '09
January 27, 2009
By ITSM Watch Staff

One hour ISO 20000 presentations wanted for six tour stops.

Recognizing the impact of the economic conditions on training and travel budgets, the IT Service Management Forum USA (itSMF USA) has committed to continuing to provide its members and the entire service management community the highest quality and most information-packed events possible. This means we have to bring the events to you, in a tightly compressed, high-value format: The itSMF USA Road Show series.

The Road Show series is six one day events, one each to be held in Chicago, Omaha, Nashville, Seattle, Denver and Orlando. As an industry leader, local expert, speaker, or ITSM champion, we’d like to feature your story and invite you to submit an abstract for consideration to provide a one-hour session at any or all of these events.

The main theme of the Road Show will be improving operations and running more cost effectively leveraging standards and best practices and in particular featuring ISO/IEC 20000. The topics may include benefits of certification at the organizational level, or the use of best practice frameworks such as ITIL, CobIT, Six Sigma, MOF, CMM/CMMI and others to achieve the certification objectives of the standard.

In short, the goal is to share practical information on how organizations that strive for the maturity required to achieve 20000 certification deliver better IT services. Equally important are cases illustrating the positive impact of managing external service providers to maximize value to the business.

You may propose to speak at any/all of the Road Show cities, but we are currently scheduling our speaking slots for the Chicago and Omaha events on March 31st and April 21st respectively. Dates for future events will be announced shortly.

You may submit your presentation proposal to mevents@itsmfusa.org.

    * Deadline for the Chicago event is January 30th.

    * Deadline for all remaining events is February 28th.

Submissions should contain the following:

  • Title and 250 word description of the presentation
  • Contact information and biography, including speaking experience
  • List of events in which you like to present
  • Level of presentation (beginners, intermediate, advanced)

Road Show Schedule:

  • March 31 -- Chicago
  • June -- Seattle
  • April 21 --Omaha
  • October --Denver
  • May --Nashville
  • November -- Orlando
