FireScope, a developer of IT service management solutions, today announced the release of the first iPad application for configuration management database (CMDB). The application will be available for download via iTunes, pending final approval from Apple.

The FireScope CMDB iPad app is a native application, providing a quick way to connect to an organization's FireScope CMDB and gain instant visibility into IT service configuration and change activities, without the need for a laptop or desktop. Common tasks that can be performed anytime, anywhere with the CMDB iPad app include:

  • Quickly inspect IT service dependencies.
  • View and approve Requests for Change (RFCs) remotely.
  • Perform impact analysis on prospective change.
  • Review configuration of critical assets.
  • Access all of your CMDB reports.

FireScope CMDB for iPad is the newest member of FireScope's extensive family of mobile products. Available for free with a mobile service enabled CMDB license, users only need to specify connection information for their instance of FireScope CMDB to be up and running. In addition to the iPad, FireScope also offers apps for the most popular consumer mobile platforms and devices, such as Apple iPhone 3GS, 3G and iPod Touch and Android phones, including Nexus One, HTC Hero, HTC Magic, Motorola Droid and more.
