The Computer Measurement Group (CMG), the IT professionals responsible for planning, measuring and managing the performance of the world's largest IT infrastructures, announced today that it has teamed up with two training partners to offer extra training at the 34th International Computer Measurement Group annual conference (CMG'08) taking place from December 7-12 in Las Vegas at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel.

CMG is offering a training seminar presented by Metron-Athene culminating in the ISEB examination to earn an ITIL Practitioner's Certificate in Capacity Management.

This class is suited to those wishing to broaden their ITIL IT Service Management experience and those with full or part-time hands-on responsibility for planning, implementing and/or running a Capacity Management function.

It will be equally useful for those already in this role desiring a formal understanding, or those who are about to enter a Capacity Management role and need training in how to perform. The course is intensive, highly practical and interactive, and includes assignments based on real life examples and practices.

The second training seminar is presented by Inside Products, Nalini Elkins on TCP/IP performance management, security, tuning and troubleshooting on z/OS. It is designed to provide attendees with an understanding of the performance management of their TCP/IP network, socket applications, and TCP/IP stack. It is designed to guide them in learning the basic concepts of TCP/IP network performance management by teaching a step-by-step approach to performance tuning.

Attendees will learn how to analyze SMF reports and various TCP/IP profile and setup parameters. They will also learn performance management of your TCP/IP stack, how socket application performance may be improved, and basic workload measurement. In addition, they will also learn where the security vulnerabilities are of the core Internet protocols and how to protect your installation.

The Computer Measurement Group (www.cmg.org) is a not-for-profit, worldwide organization of IT professionals committed to sharing information and practices focused on ensuring the efficiency and scalability of IT service delivery to the enterprise through measurement, quantitative analysis, and forecasting.
